Spec Script Sale: “Vacation Friends”

Twentieth Century Fox acquires comedy spec script “Vacation Friends” written by siblings Tim Mullen and Tom Mullen, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris attached to star. From Deadline:

Pratt and Faris, who are married off screen, will play a crazy wild couple that bonds with a straight laced couple on vacation in Mexico. They have a great time, and then want to rekindle the fun. Once the other couple gets back to their normal life, it’s not nearly the same kind of fun and their vacation friends won’t go away.

Strong high concept that slots comfortably into Hollywood’s similar but different business mentality: What about Bob? with a couple.

Steve Pink, who is attached to direct, is reportedly doing a rewrite.

Deal was for near seven figures.

The scribes are repped by Paradigm and Andrew Kersey Management.

By my count, this is the 17th spec script sale of 2014.

There were 21 spec script deals year-to-date in 2013.
