Want a daily source for all Hollywood lit sales?
A reminder that Tom Benedek and I track all Hollywood lit sales on a daily basis on Twitter:

Why is this important? You can’t judge the Hollywood acquisition marketplace mood based on movies currently in theaters. Those represent the thinking of buyers anywhere from 2–5 years ago, typically how long a movie needs to go through development and production.
The only way to know how the buyers are thinking right now is to track what they’re buying today.
A good example: For most of the last two decades, Comedy has been the #1 genre in terms of spec script sales. Not this year. So far in 2011, the top genre in terms of sales is Thriller. You wouldn’t know that unless you were tracking the current acquisition market.
Spec script, pitch, novel, non-fiction book, magazine article, comic book, graphic novel, video game, real life story — whatever it is, if it sells in Hollywood, we Tweet it: @ScreenwritingMC.
