UPDATE: Sometimes our pets are helpmates as writers. They sit in our lap or lie at our feet as we tap away on our keyboards. They take us for walks to clear our minds. They listen to us read pages to them to see how it sounds.
Then there are times when they don’t quite get into the spirit of creativity. This from Shelly Gustavson:
Trying to markerboard and index card some logic back to my plot holes, and Gertie won’t let me have any carpet space.
